Collections.

A recent project documenting a collection of telephones.

I think I'm going to keep working on this, I'm not at all convinced in the presentation.

At uni this week we were let loose in some of the workshops in the building to do a series of reportage drawings. While I'm not that happy with the quality and quantity of work I produced I really like how the final edits came out.
I'm feeling more and more confident with using the mac's to produce final pieces with every project! :)

Anyone else think I have a bit of an orange obsession?

Possession and the Law

An editorial piece for the Observer (not live) about satanism and the occult in South Africa.
We were asked to create work that handled the matter with subtlety and sensitivity while fully addressing both the subject of the occult and also the policing of it.

I went through quite a few versions and ideas for this piece, but I'm quite happy with the final.

One day brief - Mash up

My three posters chopped up with scissors and teeth and mashed back together and recoloured in photoshop.

One Day Brief - Posters

To keep us all fresh and to make sure we come into uni pretty much everyday forever our tutors have begun to set one day briefs starting at 9.30am and finishing at 5pm at random. Today we were asked to design four posters for a music and arts event in London with a given set of typefaces, pictures and rules. Other than the utter panic it was really good fun!

What a Mint Patronum!

These are a couple of pieces that I did over new year as birthday presents to my flatmates. Finn loves Harry as much as I do and Zach is a mint.

Hopefully they will look 'mint' in frames! Pretty chuffed and had a lot of fun :)

Brewery Arts App

A project from a gooood few weeks ago.

We were asked to design an iPad app for a music venue through which you could browse events and buy tickets ect. This one was a bit of a challenge for most my class as none of us can afford an ipad or know anyone who can but we steamed ahead and did the best we could. I chose Brewery Arts centre in Kendal to base mine on, hence the mountains and stuff.

To be honest I reeeeally dislike the way this project turned out. I enjoyed all the primary work immensely but I seriously hate the finals. It was such a rush to hand in and I feel like you can tell. Its far too hasty cut and paste and as usual the typography is poo. But the tutors loved it so high ho!

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud.

I got to be a 'sound recordist' for the day a few weeks ago!
My housemate Finn needed someone to help him do sound on a university project, remaking the first scenes of Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and I thought I might as well go on a little trip to the seaside and get some film making experience at the same time.
We went to the Solway Firth on the boarder of Scotland. I was so excited about sea and sand. Instead I got mud. Lots of it.
But it was still good fun! (I got to hold a BOOM! mic and listen in on conversations from far away)
