Bag of Kale.

How to make kale 'chips' and also have a workout.

I've caught the kale hysteria that appears to be sweeping all the food blogs and magazines I read. 

And I gotta admit. Kale is the fucking balls. 

This however is the only way I can get my mum to eat it and the the best part of the recipe is the fairly primitive bag shake to oil the leaves. Recently my favourite songs to do this too are Shakira's 'Hips don't lie' and Beyonce's 'Flawless'. But Outkast kinda beats them all.

I was hoping to have a bit more type on there but it just cluttered up and the illustration couldn't be 'read' properly. 

This is the next bag shaking move I'm working on...

That jacket though. 

I need it.

A lot more detail in this one and all the better for having previously practiced the technique. I found the hair a bit of a sticky point but I think thats to do with it being a magazine scan and thus textured. Really a whole lota fun though :) Want to do more!

Experiments in Fashion.

I've been wanting to do a project like this for such a long time. It's been on every to-do list for the past year so I finally decided to see if it would work. And it does kinda. I think the colours might need to be toned back and I'm gonna have to be super savvy with my shadows and textures but I'm pretty pleased!

Now I just need some lovely collaborators! (I think using vogue pages might be stealing...)

It's also gonna have to be crazy Hi-Res to limit pixilating and maximise details.

What a Mint.

All my mint plants and herbs died over winter which made my courgette and mint soup quite a sad affair. So I'm growin some more!

I changed the composition up a bit - looks a bit cluttered in the original.

Heres some lovely pencil drawings to make up for not doing much for pretty much the whole of january.  (sorry)

I've kinda been in a massive 'oh god what am I doing with my life' period for a few weeks. I think my post-graduation meltdown has finally arrived.
I'm giving up my studio as it just hasn't worked (although I did dream it was inside howls moving castle last night so maaaybe I'll reconsider...) and I'm now seriously planning my move to the big smoke even though I can't really support myself yet. It's super scary and possibly stupid but I've reached a 'something has to change' point and I can't back away from that. But things are cool now!

Today I did lots of drawing that is outwardly productive and not just scrawls in a sketchbook and I'm feeling super inspired and all I want to do is draw all day again. I think its just hard to stay enthusiastic and continually full of creative beans. Look at all these beans.
